Fungus Treatment
Nail
Fungus Among Us!
One half of all Americans over the age of 40 have
it.
This
condition known as Onychomycosis or nail fungus
usually shows as a yellow thickening of the nail.
There are a few different treatments available
(applying clorox, Vicks VapoRub, vinegar, Listerine,
tea tree oil, or over the counter anti-fungal
creams) but they only have an 8% success rate.
Oral medications may be damaging to the liver,
and surgery to remove the nail may not be a desirable
option.
After
years of poor results in treating the highly contagious
disease a new option has come available. A series
of Laser treatments prove to be easy, painless,
and keep the nail intact. No treatment to date
is 100% effective, but laser treatments have revealed
very promising results. The laser light passes
safely through the nail, targeting, heating and
effectively destroying the fungus. Wearing your
favorite open toe shoes may be an option once
again!
